Demonstrations were reported in major<br>cities like Tehran, Mashhad, Shiraz and Isfahan. In response to these authorities increased<br>security measures and imposed communication restrictions to control these protests and the<br>current situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These protests were mainly driven by public frustration over the inflation, unemployment and the<br>weakening of national currency in the country. These economic issues have made daily life more<br>difficult to the citizens in Iran. During this time, demonstrations spread across more than 30<br>provinces, showing the scale of the unrest. Authorities have restricted public gatherings and have<br>limited internet access to reduce the flow of information within the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People who are living in the affected areas reported many disruptions to their daily life including<br>transports delays and temporary closure of school ands shops in the towns. Hospitals in major<br>cities treated the individuals who were injured during the clashes between the protesters and<br>security forces. Families of the people who were arrested have faced difficulties in getting<br>information due to limited communication and official updates in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Security forces in the key areas have maintained a strong presence in those areas and have<br>enforced curfews in some regions. Government officials stated that these measures were taken to<br>keep the public in order. At the same time, International Human Rights organizations and several<br>other foreign governments raised their concerns about the use of force in Iran and called for<br>respect for basic rights and peaceful assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The current situation in Iran has also been discussed in policy platforms which are youth focused<br>and that look at issues like governance, economic stability and civil rights. Initiatives such as<br>MUN of the Ceylon Diplomats provide space for students and all young professionals to discuss<br>global events through structured and policy-based dialogue, while helping them to understand<br>international responses and long-term challenges in these kinds of situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ongoing protests in Iran at this moment, reflect the challenges faced by citizens while<br>dealing with economic pressure and political restrictions in the country.
